About the Department
Ardent, the Tech and Analytics Society of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, is one of the most vibrant and rapidly evolving societies, founded with the vision of cultivating industry-relevant skills and fostering holistic student development. Built on the pillars of innovation and practical learning, the society actively engages in verticals such as Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Financial Modeling, and Strategic Thinking. Through a series of high-impact seminars and hands-on workshops on Generative AI, Machine Learning, Advanced Excel, and more, Ardent ensures that its members are equipped with the tools and knowledge to thrive in a competitive environment. The society has successfully collaborated with industry leaders like Wise Finserv and Implementors on live projects in financial planning, digital marketing, and branding, offering students real-time exposure to professional workflows and strategic execution. Ardent further strengthens its commitment to student advancement by conducting webinars and mentorship sessions led by professionals from EY, fintech startups, and AI-driven firms. Collaborations with platforms such as Thinking Bridge have empowered members to gain proficiency in tools like Power BI and Excel, while simultaneously deepening their understanding of decision science and analytics. AVISHKAAR, the society’s annual flagship event, saw participation from across Delhi University through events like Creator’s Meet, Excellect, and AI Nexus, merging creativity, problem-solving, and emerging technologies into a dynamic, competitive platform. Ardent continues to bridge the gap between academia and the professional world, nurturing future-ready individuals with every initiative it undertakes.
Apart from this, the Department publishes a Peer Reviewed Refereed “Journal of Business Studies” that provides the researchers with a major platform to publish their quality research work. The Department of Commerce also organizes an International Conference on contemporary issues in Business and Management every year which sees participation from across the globe. This year the Department organized 12th International Conference of Business & Management, 2025 on 18-19 February 2025, at the college auditorium on the theme “Sustainable Business Transformation: Driving Innovation & Impact Through Technology.” The Conference was a remarkable gathering of brilliant minds, thought leaders, and passionate researchers dedicated to shaping sustainable business solutions through the use of technology.

Journal of Business Studies
The Journal of Business Studies is a peer-reviewed, refereed journal of the Department of Commerce, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (NAAC Accredited ‘A’ Grade College), University of Delhi. The Department has been publishing this journal for more than 35 years. In 2008, the journal obtained its International Standard Serial Number (ISSN: 0975-0150).
The journal aims to provide researchers with a major platform to study various business and management issues in the areas of finance, accounting, marketing, international business, economics, human resource management, and organizational behavior and human relations (OBHR). Work reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of commerce, business, and management—especially those exploring emerging horizons—is also considered relevant for publication.
The journal publishes research papers based on empirical work in the above-mentioned areas. However, in exceptional cases, articles based purely on original theoretical work are also considered for publication.
Papers and articles submitted by authors undergo a two-stage review process. The first stage involves a preliminary review by the Editorial Team of the college, comprising members with diverse interests and expertise. The second stage is a blind review conducted by eminent academicians and scholars from outside the college with relevant expertise in the respective fields.

ICBM 2026
INTERNATIONAL/NATIONAL CONFERENCES
The Department of Commerce organized the 13th International Conference of Business and Management on 6th February 2026 at the college auditorium, on the theme “Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Leadership in Urban Rural Bharat: Pathways to Viksit Bharat@2047 and the SDGs”, sponsored by ICSSR, Indian Council of Social Science Research. The conference was a remarkable gathering of brilliant minds, thought leaders, and passionate researchers.
The International Knowledge Partners for the event were, Curtin University, Perth, Australia, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia. The National Knowledge Partners for the event were Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences for Women and Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, University of Delhi.
The Conference was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Shri Rajesh Gupta IRS, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, Delhi, Government of India and the Guest of Honour, Prof. Payal Mago, Principal, Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences for Women, Director Campus of Open Learning, University of Delhi. The Keynote speakers included Prof. Vijay Kumar Shrotriya, Head and Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Business, University of Delhi and Mr. Ketan Wadhwani, Queen’s University Belfast, GIFT City Campus.
The Technical Sessions were conducted in hybrid mode across ten thematic tracks, with a total of 64 research papers presented, reflecting diverse and contemporary research perspectives. Overall, the Technical Sessions provided a rigorous academic forum for the exchange of ideas on emerging research themes. The deliberations reinforced that the realization of Viksit Bharat requires an awakened and socially conscious nation, supported by the responsible and strategic application of artificial intelligence to achieve inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

Commerce Association Alumni Relationship Program: CAARP 3.0 (Alumni Interaction Program)
The third edition of CAARP focused on strengthening alumni relations by bringing six accomplished former members back to interact with students. They shared career journeys and insights on emerging themes like artificial intelligence, sustainability, and globalization. The session created a meaningful exchange of ideas, offering students practical guidance and reinforcing long-term community building within the association.

Stratagem (Strategy Competition)
Stratagem was the association’s first intra-college strategy competition, attracting over 300 participants across 85+ teams. Participants developed expansion strategies for a quick-commerce company entering tier-2 cities. The event emphasized analytical thinking, market research, and presentation skills, with finalists showcasing well-structured, high-quality solutions before a panel.
Adwitiya 10.0
Marking its 10th edition, Adwitiya celebrated the talents of specially abled individuals and promoted inclusivity on 15th November 2025. Supported by NGOs and dignitaries, the event featured performances including dance, music, theatre, and fashion. It highlighted confidence, creativity, and community spirit while reinforcing the association’s commitment to social responsibility.The event was graced by Ms. Sunita Bainsla, former Principal Director General of Income Tax. She is the daughter of the late Colonel Kirori Singh Bainsla.

Intra-Society Case Competition & Workshops
A series of workshops trained members in case study research, structured thinking, and deck creation using business frameworks. These culminated in an intra-society case competition in February 2026, providing a platform to apply learned skills in a competitive environment.
Decoding Narratives Podcast
Following the successful conduct of its inaugural podcast series Business Beyond, the Decoding Narratives Featured experts such as Prof. Abhijit Das and Dr. Bidisha Bhattacharya. The episodes discussed topics like global trade dynamics, India’s economic challenges, and policy concerns, encouraging critical thinking and informed discourse among students

Vyaparth (Annual Magazine)
The second edition of the association’s magazine served as a platform for student expression in commerce, economics, and public policy. It included articles, interviews, and creative pieces, showcasing intellectual depth while documenting the association’s yearly activities.
Uddayam XVI (Annual Fest)
The 16th edition of the annual flagship fest, Uddayam was conducted on the 15th and 16th of April 2026. This year, Uddayam featured two events that tested participants’ valuation skills, and business strategy with a prize pool of INR 3,00,000. The competitions were Contrivance: The Legacy Case Competition, and Estate Enigma 3.0. It combined academic rigor with creativity and large-scale participation, continuing its legacy as a premier student-led fest.

Shaheed Bhagat Singh Commerce Summit
Introduced for the first time, this national-level summit brought together leaders from government, industry, law, entrepreneurship, and media. The Summit featured speaker sessions by Shri Raman Aggarwal, CEO, FIDC; Advocate Nikhil Mehta, Panel Advocate – NHAI and Shri Kumar Abhinav, Deputy Secretary to the Government of India. It featured Shri Lokendra Tomar, Founder of Diabexy, Mr. Harshit Sharma, Founder of Youngun, and Mr. Ayush Kumar, CTO of the Future Animations in the Udyog Panel. It also featured Mr. Rahul Makin, Radio Personality and Mr. Utkarsh Pratap Singh, Anchor, TV9 Bharatvarsh Digital in the Creative Panel. Through speaker sessions and panel discussions, it facilitated dialogue on contemporary economic and business issues, aiming to inspire students and deepen their understanding of real-world challenges.
ARDENT: The Tech and Analytics Society

Throughout the 2025–2026 tenure, Ardent – The Tech and Analytics Society successfully organized a diverse array of initiatives, ranging from foundational skill-building workshops in design and communication to high-level technical seminars on Data Analytics and Power BI. Ardent has empowered students with a sophisticated blend of technical proficiency and creative thinking, reinforcing their commitment to shaping the next generation of data-driven leaders.
Canva Workshop:
A dedicated session was conducted to enhance members’ design and content creation skills. Participants were introduced to the fundamentals of visual design, including layouts, typography, and color schemes. The workshop enabled members to create engaging posters, presentations, and social media creatives effectively using Canva.
Outreaching Workshop:
This session focused on strengthening communication and networking skills among members. Participants were guided on drafting professional emails, approaching potential collaborators, and representing society effectively. The workshop played a key role in building confidence and improving external communication skills.
Writing Workshop:
The writing workshop aimed at improving members’ content creation and documentation abilities. It covered formal writing techniques, including report writing, caption drafting, and official communication. Members learned how to structure content clearly while maintaining a professional tone.
Webinar on Data Analytics – Unlocking the Power of Data
The workshop series commenced with a comprehensive webinar titled “Data Analytics: Unlocking the Power of Data for the Future.” This session was expertly conducted by Ms. Ishaa Verma, a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the field. She introduced participants to the core fundamentals of analytics, illustrating how data has evolved from a mere byproduct of business to its most valuable strategic asset. The session highlighted that the ability to ask the right questions and interpret results critically is what separates a technician from a true data strategist.
Seminar on Power BI – Transforming Data into Insights
Following the foundational webinar held a few weeks prior, the second day of the series focused on the practical application of data through an intensive, hands-on seminar. Also led by Ms. Ishaa Verma, this session was specifically designed to bridge the gap between theoretical understanding and technical proficiency. The focus of the day was Power BI, an industry-leading business intelligence platform used for sophisticated data visualization.
NISM seminar on financial literacy
Ardent organized a seminar on financial literacy conducted by Ms. Himani Lath, a SEBI SMART Trainer and a highly experienced educator in the financial markets. She is an empanelled CPE Trainer with NISM and has served as a Senior Trainer with reputed institutions such as NSE Academy, BSE, and NSE, along with organizations like Awoke India Foundation and CIEL. The seminar covered essential topics such as smart saving habits, investment strategies, and the role of regulatory bodies like SEBI and NISM in ensuring investor protection.

NFLQ 2026 – NISM Quiz (College Round)
The Financial Literacy Program successfully conducted the College Round of the National Financial Literacy Quiz (NFLQ) 2026. The quiz aimed to assess and enhance students’ financial awareness through a structured format of 25 questions to be attempted within 30 minutes. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, reflecting a strong interest in financial literacy among students. All participants received certificates, while top performers advanced to the Regional Round and National Finale, marking the success of the initiative.

AI Nexus – Creative AI Challenge
AI Nexus was an innovative competition exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence and creativity. Participants were challenged to create AI-generated podcasts for fictional products using tools like voice synthesis and prompt engineering. The event was judged by Aditya Soni, Former President (2024–25), and Tanmay Kushwaha, Joint Secretary (2024–25), associated with BSR Company, who brought valuable technical and leadership insights to the evaluation.
Excellect – Analytical Excel Competition
Excellect was one of Ardent’s most hands-on and engaging competitions, designed to test students’ analytical thinking and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. The event was judged by Aditi Meshram, associated with ZS Associates, who have over 2.5 years of experience in data analytics and consulting. Her expertise ensured a practical and industry-oriented evaluation of participants’ performance.
Creators Meet – Avishkaar’26 Flagship Panel
Creators Meet 2026, the flagship panel under Avishkaar’26 in academic auditorium, was one of Ardent’s most impactful events, bringing together leading voices from the digital creator ecosystem. The session featured Rochit Singh, Sana Bhateja, Ankit Jha, Sarah Hussain, and Aman Jindal, each known for their strong online presence and unique content styles.
The panel focused on key aspects of content creation, including personal branding, consistency, audience engagement, and the integration of AI in modern content strategies. With a footfall of over 200+ students, the event stood as a testament to Ardent’s vision of connecting students with industry leaders and empowering them to explore opportunities in the digital and creative space.
MARKSOC: The Marketing Society
Convener: Dr. Saher Sayed, Co-Convener: Dr. Ranjana Thakur
MarkSoc SBSC completed an academically active year anchored by two flagship events and a structured member development pipeline. The year opened with Markade 4.0, the society’s fresher orientation, which drew over 350 participants through a Monopoly × GTA-inspired format called Property Mayhem, the largest fresher event in the society’s history at SBSC backed by brand sponsorships from Plawse, Ecosa, Abani, and Headshots. This was followed by a four-day onboarding bootcamp for new members covering LinkedIn strategy, Canva, article writing, and corporate cold outreach, giving recruits practical, career-applicable skills from the outset. Alongside this, the society ran MarkTalks Season 5, a four-episode speaker series featuring senior professionals from Ogilvy India, Motorola, Dentsu India, and Fixderma and two MarkED skill development sessions with industry leaders from Meesho (IIM Lucknow alumnus) and Dentsu India, bridging the gap between academic learning and industry practice.

A three-episode Market Visit series -’Bazaar Footnotes’ deployed student teams into Delhi’s active retail markets — Lajpat Nagar, Majnu Ka Tila, and Janpath; conducting on-ground primary research involving vendor interviews, demographic analysis, and consumer behaviour observation.
The year culminated in Elixir ’26, held on 15–16 April 2026, which functioned as both a national-level competitive platform and an industry networking event. Day 1 hosted a case competition run in partnership with Startup India, centred on AI-driven interventions in Indian manufacturing, which drew approximately 3,200 registrations on Unstop, a figure that reflects significant institutional reach. The judge, Mr. Rishi Dewan of Startup India (Invest India), added both professional credibility and an alumni dimension to the proceedings.

Day 2 combined an inter-collegiate networking mixer with the Canva Champs Innovation Challenge, a 60-minute ideation sprint using Canva AI tools. Canva formally partnered with MarkSoc as the official Design Partner for Elixir ’26, making it one of the first DU societies to secure such an arrangement with Ms. Sakshi Rastogi, Country Head of Canva, associated with the competition. Elixir ’26 was supported by seven brand sponsors, capping a year in which MarkSoc established measurable benchmarks in event scale, industry collaboration, and institutional recognition across the Delhi University circuit.

The Supply Chain Management (SCM) Cell organised a series of impactful events that seamlessly integrated academic learning with practical engagement.
SYNC CHAIN 2.0
The academic year commenced with Sync Chain, an engaging fresher-centric event designed to test analytical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills through interactive challenges and simulations.
LIVE PROJECT
The Cell successfully completed a Live Project in collaboration with KontentEdge, where members explored AI-powered content innovation. The project focused on analyzing evolving content workflows and creating impactful, insight-driven assets, offering hands-on exposure to strategy, research, and design.
INDUSTRIAL VISIT – VARUN BEVERAGES
An industrial visit to Varun Beverages provided members with practical insights into large-scale manufacturing and supply chain operations, enhancing their understanding of production and distribution processes.

SUPPLY SPHERE – SEASON 2
Episode 1 featured Ms. Aditi Balbir, Co-Founder & CEO of EcoRatings and Independent Director at DreamFolks, who shared valuable insights on sustainability and eco-conscious business practices.
Episode 2 hosted Mr. Manoj Soni, Founder of Myriad Consulting Services, who brought over four decades of experience and offered deep insights into industry operations and leadership.
CASE STUDIES
The Cell conducted in-depth case studies on The Collapse & Reinvention of BYJU’S, The Transformation of India’s EdTech Industry, and The Adani Crisis, encouraging critical thinking and real-world business analysis.
SKILL SESSION
A skill session with Mr. Jayaunt Nagpal, Director – Operations at Zepto Café, provided practical knowledge on operations management and industry practices, equipping members with valuable professional insights.
LINKEDIN WORKSHOP
The Cell organized a LinkedIn Workshop conducted by Ms. Yukti Devtalla, aimed at enhancing students’ professional presence, personal branding, and networking skills.
INDUSTRIAL VISIT – DIXON TECHNOLOGIES
Members gained further industry exposure through an industrial visit to Dixon Technologies, where they observed advanced manufacturing processes and operational efficiencies.

ANUKRAM 5.0
The flagship annual event, Anukram 5.0, was a two-day event celebrating innovation and competition. Day 1 featured Logistellar, a high-energy competition focused on strategic thinking and real-world problem-solving. Day 2 hosted BeatRoutes, challenging participants through dynamic and analytical rounds. The event concluded with Abhikatha, an inspiring speaker session that provided valuable insights into entrepreneurship, innovation, and industry experiences

Achievements
Our consultants have consistently delivered outstanding results across competitions. Ashutosh, Pragyansh, Vaibhav, and Harsh reached the National Finals of the HSBC India Business Case Programme. On the global stage, our consultants achieved a Top 5 finish at the 180DC Global Case Competition and were Runners-Up at the Global Microfinance Case Competition.
Domestically, the team secured top finishes across leading institutions including IIT Delhi, IIM Bangalore, IIM Trichy, St. Stephen’s College, Kirori Mal College, Jesus & Mary College, and Lady Shri Ram College.

Teacher-in-Charge: Prof. Meera Mehta
The Department of Commerce is the largest in the college, offering programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It is widely recognized as one of the premier departments of the University of Delhi, with a highly qualified, dynamic, and research-oriented faculty specializing in diverse areas of commerce and allied disciplines.
Orientation Programme
The Department of Commerce organized an Orientation Programme for first-year students on August 1, 2025, in the college’s Open-Air Auditorium. The session aimed to warmly welcome the new batch and acquaint them with the department’s ethos, academic framework, and the wide range of opportunities available.
Faculty members, including the Teacher-in-Charge, Prof. Meera Mehta, addressed the students, highlighting the importance of academic excellence and overall personality development. The programme concluded with a guided campus tour, enabling students to familiarize themselves with their surroundings and begin their academic journey with confidence.
Workshop on “Business Research Methodology” (19–23 September 2025)
Under the aegis of IQAC, the Department organized a five-day online workshop on Business Research Methodology from 19th to 23rd September 2025. The programme aimed to enhance research skills through a blend of theoretical and practical insights.
Sessions were conducted by eminent resource persons, including Dangi (Delhi School of Economics) and Prof. Arun Julka (Maharaja Agrasen College), covering key areas such as research design, report writing, research ethics, and dissertation guidance.
The workshop saw participation from 107 research scholars and faculty members and concluded with the release of Volume 14 of the Journal of Business Studies.
Teaching Bootcamp (2025–26)
Under the aegis of IQAC, the Department successfully organized an Online Research-Led Teaching Bootcamp (2025–26) in collaboration with Pacific States University, USA, and MSP Research Academy. The programme aimed to strengthen the integration of research and teaching, enabling educators to connect classroom learning with real-world research insights.
The sessions were led by distinguished resource persons, including Dr. Saurabh Bhattacharya (Newcastle University Business School, UK) and Dr. Arpita Agnihotri (Penn State Harrisburg, USA).
The interactive sessions encouraged participants to rethink conventional teaching approaches and adopt research-informed pedagogical strategies. The initiative reinforced a commitment to academic excellence, faculty development, and global collaboration, making the bootcamp a valuable learning experience for all participants.
Journal of Business Studies
The Journal of Business Studies, a peer-reviewed and refereed publication, has been consistently published over the years, reflecting the Department’s strong commitment to academic excellence and scholarly contribution in the field of business studies.
Volume XIV (2024), released for the academic year 2025–26 by the Department of Commerce, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, showcases the dedicated efforts of the editorial team, led by Dr. Vandana Dahiya (Editor-in-Chief), along with Dr. Shalini Gupta and Prof. Ruchi Gupta (Editorial Advisory Board Members), and Mr. Biplab Kumar Dey (Managing Editor).

The Commerce Association successfully hosted the second edition of the Commerce Association Alumni Relationship Programme (CAARP) on 12th September 2024, fostering meaningful engagement between alumni and current students. The event featured insightful discussions on career trajectories, industry trends, and professional development, offering students valuable guidance from distinguished alumni. CAARP 2.0 reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to strengthening alumni relations and promoting knowledge exchange to support the professional growth of its members.
Webinar – Blueprints of Change
A webinar on 8th October 2024, titled “Blueprints of Change: Women Entrepreneurs Transforming Our World.” The session highlighted the pivotal role of women entrepreneurs in driving both economic and social transformation. Industry leaders and entrepreneurs shared their experiences, challenges, and strategies for fostering innovation and sustainable growth. The discussion provided valuable insights into the evolving entrepreneurial landscape, with a strong emphasis on the importance of inclusivity and resilience in business. The webinar served as a platform for meaningful knowledge exchange and inspiration for aspiring entrepreneurs.
Canva Workshop
A Canva Workshop was conducted on 21st October 2024 to enhance participants’ design skills for academic and professional applications. The session addressed key areas such as layout design, branding, and content optimisation, and included hands-on exercises in creating presentations, social media posts, and marketing materials. Attendees gained practical experience in utilising Canva as a tool for effective visual communication.
Business Colloquium
The third Business Colloquium was held on 8th November 2024, themed “Circular Economy Conundrum: Balancing Profit and Planet.” The event featured a panel discussion on circular supply chains and a speaker session on circular business models, both of which highlighted sustainable strategies and their implications for profitability. The colloquium fostered critical discourse on the alignment of economic growth with environmental sustainability.
Adwitiya
- Vyaparth: The Annual Magazine
In a landmark initiative for the year, the Commerce Association introduced its first-ever Annual Magazine, Vyaparth, marking a new chapter in its journey of academic and creative excellence.
This publication aimed to provide a platform for students to engage with contemporary themes in commerce, economics, finance, and public policy, while also showcasing original thought, analytical writing, and creative expression. The magazine featured a curated collection of student articles, interviews, opinion pieces, and reflective essays, along with glimpses into the Association’s flagship events and activities throughout the year.
- Business Beyond
The Commerce Association of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College embarked on yet another pioneering journey with the launch of its very own podcast series, Business Beyond, a first-of-its-kind initiative under its banner. The podcast featured the founders of Indian startups featured and funded on Shark Tank India.
- Uddayam
The 16th edition of its annual flagship fest, Uddayam, was hosted on the 11th and 12th of April 2025 as part of Comfest, drawing 1300+ participants nationwide. Sponsored by Leverage Edu, and powered by Zerodha and Boult Audio. Key events included Contrivance (a case competition on mergers & acquisitions), Marcrix (a marketing challenge with an IPL twist), and Estate Enigma 2.0 (a real estate investment simulation).

ARDENT: The Tech and Analytics Society

The past year marked a significant milestone for Ardent, through a series of insightful and engaging events aimed at equipping students with technical, analytical, and strategic competencies. From seminars on cutting-edge technologies to competitive events that tested participants’ knowledge and creativity, Ardent continued to foster a culture of learning, innovation, and industry-oriented skill development.
Data Analytics Seminar
A hands-on seminar was organised, led by industry expert CA Archit Agarwal, focusing on Excel and Power BI. The session enabled participants to acquire practical skills in data visualisation, dashboard creation, and real-world data analysis. Internship opportunities were also introduced through Ardent’s collaboration with Thinking Bridge, thereby offering valuable industry exposure. The seminar highlighted the growing strategic importance of data analytics in contemporary decision-making and career planning.
Seminar on Generative AI
A seminar on Generative AI was conducted by Mr Paras Madan, AI Engineer and Data Scientist, to explore the evolving role of artificial intelligence across sectors. The session focused on applications in business operations, finance, and analytics, and provided interdisciplinary insights relevant to commerce students. The discussion underscored AI’s transformative impact and its role in driving innovation and future career trajectories.
Excel Seminar: Enhancing Analytical Proficiency
Ardent conducted an Excel training session led by Hardik Singhal, CA aspirant and EY articleship trainee, aimed at developing students’ proficiency in data management and analysis. Key functions such as Conditional Formatting, Filters, COUNTIFS, and SUMIFS were covered. With a strong emphasis on practical applications, the session supported both academic and professional growth and reaffirmed Ardent’s focus on experiential learning and industry relevance.
Machine Learning Webinar
A webinar on Machine Learning was hosted, featuring AI expert Mr Shubhankit Sirvaiya. The session explored ML applications in commerce, including personalised marketing, dynamic pricing, and fraud detection, and featured a case study on a Loan Approval System. Emphasising real-world relevance, the webinar encouraged students to explore AI’s potential in finance and business, aligning with Ardent’s goal of bridging theoretical knowledge with practical insight.
Avishkaar’25: Flagship Event at Comfest
Ardent is set to enrich this year’s college Comfest through its flagship event, Avishkaar’25, which integrates creativity, technology, and competition across three major activities. The Creators Meet will bring together influencers from diverse fields, Excellect will present a high- intensity Excel-based data analysis challenge, and AI Nexus will evolve from a quiz into an AI voice synthesis podcast competition. These dynamic events are designed to spark innovation, enhance skills, and foster a strong sense of community engagement. Avishkaar’25 reflects Ardent’s mission to encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and provide a platform for students to explore emerging trends while celebrating their unique talents.
MARKSOC: The Marketing Society

The Marketing Society conducted a dynamic array of events and initiatives during this academic session, fostering creativity, innovation, and professional development among its members.
A major highlight of the year was Markade 3.0, which attracted participation from over 500 students, particularly first-year undergraduates. The event featured a series of engaging activities, including Heads Up, Pictionary, and Marketing Trivia. Its flagship segment, Dungeons and Dares, promoted campus exploration and peer interaction, offering prizes worth ₹50,000. Additional features, such as a dedicated photo booth, contributed to the festive atmosphere and heightened student involvement.
An orientation ceremony was organised to familiarise new students with the Society’s core values, vision, and legacy. The session included an overview of past flagship events such as Elixir and Markade and concluded with a Q&A segment addressing recruitment queries, thereby encouraging enthusiastic engagement from prospective members.
During the academic year, the Society also showcased several live projects, most notably a collaboration with Motorola on the #RangeelaReCampaign, which garnered over 5 million impressions and 560,000 likes. Another notable project with Current Noodles significantly enhanced brand visibility through the strategic use of social media reels and pan-India networking initiatives.
A series of knowledge-sharing sessions was conducted under the MarkTalks banner, featuring esteemed speakers from the entrepreneurial and corporate spheres. Key contributors included Dhruv Verma and Sahil Manral (Founders, Rize Bar), Dr Ashok Kumar Sangwan (linking academia with industry), Ms Jigyasa Laroiya (branding strategist), and Mr Sahil Khanna (expert in AI applications for digital marketing). These sessions provided students with valuable insights into contemporary marketing practices and emerging industry trends.
To strengthen practical understanding, members undertook skill-building exercises such as formulating market entry strategies for Chick-fil-A in the Indian context and analysing the business model of Magicpin. In addition, technical workshops on Canva and LinkedIn were conducted to enhance students’ proficiency in graphic design, digital outreach, and professional networking.
Through its diverse initiatives, the Marketing Society reinforced its commitment to experiential learning, industry relevance, and student development. The year’s activities greatly enriched members’ academic and professional growth, establishing the Society as a dynamic platform for aspiring marketers.
Supply Chain Management Cell

The Supply Chain Management (SCM) Cell organised a series of impactful events that seamlessly integrating academic learning with practical engagement. Key initiatives—Sync Chain, Supply Sphere, and the Skill Session—provided students with valuable opportunities to explore core supply chain concepts through interactive challenges, expert-led discussions, and hands-on training.
On 15th November 2024, the SCM Cell hosted an exclusive online workshop titled LinkedIn Edge: Strategic Networking for Growth, in collaboration with LinkedIn content creator Ms Vartika Rawat. The session offered actionable strategies to strengthen students’ LinkedIn presence and unlock professional opportunities.
Sync Chain, conducted on 5th October 2024, simulated key stages of the supply chain—Raw Materials, Production, and Distribution—through a three-phase challenge involving scavenger hunts, riddles, and coordination tasks, thereby fostering strategic thinking and collaborative problem-solving.
Supply Sphere featured a virtual mentorship series. On 2nd December 2024, Mr Yogesh Shinde delivered a session on sustainable urban supply chains, followed by Mr Faisal Khan on 10th January 2025, who shared insights into supply chain careers and industry preparedness.
The Skill Session, held on 13th February 2025, focused on Data Analysis and Visualisation, Negotiation and Communication, and Crisis Management. The session was enriched with case studies and live demonstrations to enhance practical understanding.
These initiatives reflect the SCM Cell’s commitment to aligning academic pursuits with industry expectations, equipping students with essential skills for success in dynamic supply chain environments.

180 Degrees Consulting (180 DC) is the world’s largest student-led consultancy, committed to delivering affordable, high-quality consulting services to non-profits and social enterprises. At 180 DC SBSC, the society continues to uphold its mission of providing strategic solutions to socially driven organisations, while nurturing leadership, critical thinking, and professional development among its members.
During the academic session 2024–25, 180 DC SBSC undertook several impactful initiatives. A collaborative session with the Placement Cell was organised to guide first-year students on excelling in case competitions. A new department, Case Library & Resources, was established, curating a comprehensive collection of materials including a Consulting Interview Guide, case studies, guesstimates, frameworks, and competition resources. Internal training sessions were conducted for freshers, covering key areas such as consulting basics, cold emailing and calling, Canva design, research methodologies, and guesstimates. The society expanded its mentorship and industry engagement by onboarding over 30 professionals from leading firms, including the Big 3 and Big 4. Notable sessions were held with Alvarez & Marsal on consulting interview techniques and with BCG on the role of Generative AI in consulting. An intra-society case competition was also conducted, where seven teams, each mentored by a junior core member, demonstrated their problem-solving capabilities—contributing to the society’s strong performance in external contests.
180 DC SBSC achieved remarkable success across various intercollegiate platforms. Roshan Talreja secured second place at Maitreyi College, while Ashutosh and Pragyansh earned third place at CVS. Krish emerged as a national-level winner at DTU, and the team of Hriday, Siyona, and Tejas claimed victory at MDI Gurgaon. Ashutosh, Pragyansh, and Harsh were runners-up at Masters’ Union, earning a cash prize of ₹30,000, while Yash won at IIM Amritsar. These accomplishments were underpinned by the society’s structured training and mentorship framework.

Two short research reports were published: Retail Giants, a comparative analysis of multinational corporations, and Behind the Boardroom, offering sectoral insights into leading companies in the Travel, EdTech, and Music Streaming industries.

The programme served to welcome and familiarize the new batch with the department’s culture, academic curriculum, and available opportunities. Faculty members, including the Teacher-in-Charge, Prof. Shikha Gupta, delivered an insightful address emphasizing academic excellence and holistic development. The event concluded with a guided campus tour, aimed at helping students connect with their new environment and prepare for the academic journey ahead.
Guidelines Meetings
The Department of Commerce, in collaboration with the University of Delhi, conducted an online meeting on September 30, 2024, to draft guidelines for B.Com (Hons.) Semester V, Paper DSC 5.1, Income Tax: Law and Practice. Convened by Prof. Shikha Gupta, with Dr. Pooja Goel as the University Representative, the meeting was attended by 99 faculty members from across affiliated colleges.
Another meeting was held on March 18, 2025, to recommend guidelines for B.Com (Hons.) Semester II, Paper GE 2.1, Communication in Management. Ms. Subathra V served as Convener, and Dr. Purushottam Kumar Arya represented the University. Both sessions aimed to ensure uniformity and enhance the teaching-learning process.
FDP on “Business Analytics using R”: 2-4 January 2025
The Department, under the aegis of the IQAC, organised a three-day offline Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Business Analytics using R” from 2nd to 4th January 2025, for teachers and research scholars. The FDP aimed to impart both theoretical knowledge and practical training in R, a vital tool for delivering the newly introduced undergraduate paper, Business Analytics. The programme acquainted participants with the principles of business intelligence and analytics, equipping them to make data-driven decisions and address business challenges effectively.
To fulfil these objectives, expert sessions covered key topics such as Data Cleaning, Data Visualisation, Data Description, Textual Analysis (including Text Mining and Sentiment Analysis), and Linear Regression Models for predictive modelling. The programme featured distinguished resource persons, Professor C.P. Gupta and Dr. Arun Julka, both highly esteemed in their respective domains. Faculty members and research scholars from across the University of Delhi actively engaged in the FDP and commended its comprehensive content and smooth coordination.

Financial Literacy Workshop
The Department of Commerce, in collaboration with the Committee for Promotion of Financial Literacy, University of Delhi organized a workshop on “Financial Literacy: Prosperity and Wealth” on 22nd June 2023. Prominent speakers and resource persons at the workshop included Dr. R.P. Tulsian (Chairman, Committee for Promotion of Financial Literacy), Prof. Amit Kumar Singh, (Department of Commerce), and Shri Suryakant Sharma, a senior consultant at AMFI and the former DGM of SEBI.

- Commerce Association Alumni Relationship Program (CAARP): Organised its first Alumni Relationship Program (CAARP) on 26th August 2023. The panel included the esteemed alumni of the society and they addressed the freshers on various issues including their career choices and other related endeavors.
- Adwitiya – Annual Flagship Event of Commerce Association: Eighth Edition of Adwitiya- Hunar aur Jazbe ka Sangam, a talent-show for the specially abled, was organized on 4th November 2023, with an enthusiastic presence of over 200 audience. The event was graced by Mr. Dependra Pathak, IPS, Special Commissioner of Police, Law and Order Division as Chief Guest and Shri Rajendra Singh Ji as Guest of Honor.
- Contrivance – The Case Study Competition: Ninth Edition of Contrivance was organized on 14th March The event had an active participation of over 500 participants. The theme of this year’s event was- “Navigating Strategic Alliances: Elevation through Collaborative Mergers”.
- Uddayam – The Annual Commerce Fest celebrated its fifteenth edition on April 26–27, The event saw the participation of approximately 1500 participants from various colleges competing in 4 different competitions namely- ResQ Bid, Mad Men Marketing, Rogue Trader and Estate Enigma, challenging and testing their skills and acumen in the field of commerce. Designed to challenge and inspire the brightest minds, Uddayam offers a platform for students to showcase their talents, sharpen their skills and unlock their potential through a series of dynamic competitions.

ARDENT: The Tech and Analytics Society

- FUSION 2.0: a fun filled event where participants were engaged in enlightening discussions, creative workshops and the activities which encouraged personal growth and introspection.
- Workshop on Artificial Intelligence Workshop: Mr. Rahul Menon, a seasoned public speaker who illuminated the audience on AI’s pivotal role across diverse industries and the intricacies of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). It was an enlightening journey ranging from unravelling the mysteries of machine learning to decoding the safeguarding innovation.
- AVISHKAAR ’24 – The Annual Fest: Avishkaar was organised on 26th -27th April 2024, encompassing events such as AI Cryptic Hunt, LA Bourse- Beat the Street and Creator’s Meet. The participants had an immersive experience and deeper understanding into the world of Technology, Finance and Content Creation.
- Live Projects were taken up with WISEFINSERV comprising a Team of 13 members from ARDENT SBSC and With IMPLEMENTORS having Team of 21 members from ARDENT SBSC.
MARKSOC: The Marketing Society

- Markade O: the promotional event of the society, was held on 26th August, 2023 with the participation of around 300 students. Major activities included wristwatch sampling stall, game booths, engaging contests like ‘Pictionary‘ and ‘Guess the Logo/Tagline‘. The event received generous support from gifting sponsor Budweiser ‘BINGE THE RING‘, an activity that encouraged the students to explore the campus and interact with peers.
- Orientation Ceremony of the Society was held on 4th September 2023 to introduce incoming freshers to the core values, objectives and activities of the society.
- LinkedIn & Cold-Calling Workshop was conducted on 18th October 2023 for the members of the Live Project and External Relations Department. It offered practical training in vital areas of Marketing and External Relations.
- A Canva workshop was held in collaboration with the College Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) in the month of Ms. Heena Sheikh, the creator of Growthaholics and a renowned industry expert, gave the participants an insight into her vast experience and proficiency in visual storytelling.The workshop offered valuable learning opportunities in digital design.
- The annual article writing competition “Articulate O” was hosted on 17th February 2024 to showcase participants’ competence in marketing-related themes.
- Marktalks were organised through various coordinated sessions and interviews with marketing industry. In total four online and one offline session were held in the series. Dr. Sukriti Sekhri, a distinguished PhD holder in Marketing from IIM Ahmedabad and Mr. Vinayak Gautam, an entrepreneur and an expert in product marketing & financial analysis, shared their real-world experiences and insights with the students.
- The Annual Fest ELIXIR’s promotional event, held on 26th April 2024.
- Live Projects: Four live projects were initiated during the year, in collaboration with prominent organizations, each aimed at providing practical knowledge and operational insights to partnering with Unnati, Rrayze Business Solutions, SocioEZ, and ZXY Marketing, participants engaged in diverse verticals such as content curation, design, outreach, HR, business development, social media marketing, sales, and outreach. These projects facilitated hands-on experience in various aspects of marketing, including promotional activities, social media management, content creation, and client outreach.
180 DC: The 180 Degrees Consulting Society

- The society worked on 6+ live projects in collaboration with NGOs such as Seva Aur Sahyog, TeacFirst Foundation, Niveda Foundation, Fauji Ke Alfaaz, PACT, Pyaare foundation to name a few. 180 DC SBS College excels in Fundraising, Market Research, Social Media Marketing, Branding, Business Strategy, and Volunteer Retention.
- Published 7+ informative research reports such as 30-minute Road to profitability, The Indian 5 Great Revolution, Economics of Layoffs, etc.
- Mentorship Sessions were organised throughout the year, conducted by consultants from leading firms in the industry, including the MBB and Big 4. These sessions have provided invaluable insights, guidance, and networking opportunities to the members by helping them gain a deeper understanding of the corporate world and develop essential skills for their future
- 180 DC has made significant strides in enhancing its social media through strategic content creation, online engagement and regular updates of activities and achievements, society has successfully built a vibrant online community.
- Inaugral Edition of 180 Impact Genesis, the Annual Fest of the society was organised on 26th April. 1st day had a strategy-based case competition, Arena 180, which received over 800 registrations nationwide, with the final offline round having seven finalist teams from Delhi University. 2nd day featured the launch of the Casebook, a comprehensive collection of case studies and solutions. Another event on the day included a networking mixer with over 45 participants from different consulting branches across various universities and colleges in Delhi. These events showcased the society’s dedication in fostering the innovation and social impact, solidifying its role as a catalyst for positive change.

- A webinar on Actuarial Science was organised on 20th October 2023, in collaboration with IMS.
- Panel discussion on “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Different Fields of Commerce” was hosted on 17th October 2023, with Mr. Rishabh Nag, Atul Kulshreshtha, Mr. Ashwini Anand Pillutla and Mr. Akshay Bansal as the Panelists, The discussions revolved around AI’s role in startups, customer service and financial inclusion, emphasizing the continued importance of human analysis of AI-generated data. The seminar provided a comprehensive exploration of the multifaceted realm of AI, and its applications across various industries, and offered valuable insights for the attending audience.
