Guidelines for Students’ Union Elections
All students are hereby informed that Students’ union elections and related activities must strictly adhere to the guidelines and directions issued by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India (based on the Lyngdoh Committee recommendations), the High Court of Delhi (notably in Prashant Manchanda v. Union of India, 2018), the National Green Tribunal (NGT), the University of Delhi, and the College authorities. These directives emphasize the conduct of free, fair, and environmentally responsible elections, with a particular focus on preventing the defacement of public and institutional property. All students and potential candidates are expected to comply with these rules in both letter and spirit. Strict disciplinary and legal action will be taken in case of any violation. The official guidelines and orders from the concerned authorities are available for reference below.
