With this understanding, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College has embarked on a commendable endeavor to establish a dedicated Research Cell. The primary objective of this initiative is to foster the generation and exchange of knowledge while also implementing a strong framework to cultivate a thriving research ecosystem within the campus.
The Research Cell serves as a catalyst for interdisciplinary research collaborations, within and beyond the college community. Researchers can address complex problems from diverse perspectives by breaking down traditional disciplinary boundaries, leading to holistic and innovative solutions. This collaborative approach not only enriches the research outcomes but also cultivates a multidimensional understanding of the challenges faced by society.
The Research Cell serves as a dynamic hub for promoting and fostering a culture of research and innovation. Vision
To create a favorable research environment for developing and strengthening the research ecosystem within the college, in alignment with the guidelines set forth by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Mission

In addition to its core objectives, the Research Cell recognizes and celebrates excellence in research by introducing prestigious awards for faculty members and students. These awards aim to acknowledge and honour the outstanding contributions of individuals who have demonstrated exceptional research capabilities and achievements within the college community.Â
Research Colloquium
The Research Colloquium, scheduled on a designated day in the academic calendar, will serve as a platform to showcase the diversity and depth of research across various disciplines. The event aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, stimulate academic dialogue, and inspire innovation within the college community.
Key Highlights of the Event
- Faculty Research Showcase: All faculty members will present their research through poster displays or PowerPoint presentations, highlighting key findings, methodologies, and scholarly contributions. This segment—also referred to as the Research Fair—will provide faculty with an opportunity to engage with external academicians from other institutions. A Research Board will assess the quality and impact of the research presented.Â
- Student Research Presentations: Special focus will be placed on the research work of Fourth-Year undergraduate students, who will present their projects in the form of poster presentations. An expert panel will evaluate these presentations on the basis of originality, methodological rigor, clarity, and overall contribution to the field.
This full-day academic event will culminate in the recognition of outstanding researchers through the presentation of Best Researcher Awards, which will be conferred during the College Annual Day celebration.
